In this day and age, it's very easy to find a gradual self-tanner in drugstores. More companies than ever carry sunless tanning products, and these companies are becoming increasingly aware of what people do and don't want (such as orange coloring, streaking, toxins, odor, etc. when it comes to the the 'don't' list).
Definitely one of the best exfoliators I've ever used. It didn't cause me to break out and it was gentle. I love the skin care line and how natural it is! I would buy this again, and many other products from Nuance. I use it a couple of times per week mostly at night, but if I sleep in my makeup, I will use it the next morning!
2. Hask Macadamia Hair Oil Vial, $2.99
This smells amazing! My hair feels and looks so much better than when I was using Moroccan Aragon oil! My hair is healthier looking and doesn't seem as damaged (although I have a whole new hair routine for several months now). This is good for summer when our hair becomes dry from the elements and chlorine, etc.
3. Jergens BB Body, $12.99
I was hesitant to buy this moisturizer because of the price, but I was pretty pleased with the results. At first, I bought a sample sized for the light skin tones and then I bought the full sized bottle (price above) for darker skin tones for this summer. It smells really nice and feels moisturizing. It doesn't say it on the bottle, and I've scoured the internet looking for any clues, but I'm pretty sure this adds a faint amount of tan over time? Don't quote me! Overall, I think the 5 beautifying benefits and skin perfecting properties are good for me, as I have a lot of imperfections and scarring!
4. Olay Pro X Face Brush, $34.99
HOLY GRAIL! This is actually better on my skin than the Clarisonic--from what I remember! Love it! I used it several times per week, but sometimes I take a break, because I've been exfoliating like crazy lately! It gets so much more dirt and makeup out!
6. Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in 22 Bella Gold, $4.49
So beautiful for any time of year-it adds a nice bronzed glow for the summer. This eyeshadow is pigmented, rich and it applies easily with my fingers. Love it!
7. Olay Fresh Effects Clear Skin Swirled Mattifier, $10.99
Originally I got this product as a sample from a lady in the beauty department at CVS-she had given me a Beauty Insider Club Rewards baggie! I was shocked at the reduction in the redness around my popped pimples and general red skin! I ended up buying the full sized and I plan on trying it this summer in the heat when my faces gets red and shiny more often!
8. NYX Baked Blush in BBL05 Foreplay, $6.99
This blush is so beautiful and glow-y! It reminds me of Orgasm by Nars slightly! It's very pigmented and needs to be applied with a light hand. A little bit goes a long way! This color and soft glow were perfect on my fair skin! Again, only if you apply a small amount-it's either very pigmented or else the brush picks up a larger amount than other blushes I've used!
9. Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain in 126 Rico Mauve, $2.99
Shocked that a balm stain this cheap could be so good, but Wet n Wild tends to amaze from time to time! Rico Mauve is a beautiful blushed mauve color which falls into the blushed nudes category for my skin tone and natural lip color. It's so pretty for day and night. It's also not drying! It seems to be moisturizing!
10. NYC Sun 'n' Bronze Bronzing Powder in 707 Fire Island Tan, $4.59
Not too shabby. I like it as a very light bronzer! It's not too pigmented and the brush doesn't seem to pick up a lot, but I need something like this for everyday wear, considering how pale & fair my skin is! I would not recommend this for darker skin tones, and it's doing me just fine for now (especially for that price)! Definitely an improvement from the Wet n Wild and the Rimmel, which seemed orange to me!
*Also: I will be putting up a list of my picks for the worst products I bought and tried! Some were not worth the price, others didn't do what they said, and some were just downright disappointing fails!
Have you tried anything on my top 10 list for last month? What did you think? Been eyeing one of these products? Did you have any favorite products last month? Leave a comment below & let me know your thoughts!
As you may have guessed, I live in the USA, and on Saturday, we celebrated the 4th of July! So I'm telling you now for future reference... If I have an opportunity to theme my look or get festive, I will. I generally try to do something pretty and fashionable if the occasion permits. Rest assured, you will see more of my themed and festive outfits and beauty looks!
Here is my outfit of the day and my makeup of the day from Saturday! I'm really digging this makeup look, which I did with only drugstore makeup products! Please let me know if you want to see a makeup tutorial on YouTube? Also, the clothing and jewelry are all on the inexpensive side.
*ALSO: I cut my hair (by myself) around 6-inches the day before! I'm not sure how it looks! It needed to be done so bad*
I've been nominated by Adriana from --> Adriana Reis <-- to do The Liebster Award! This award is a way for new bloggers to get discovered! It involves answering 10 question set by the person you have been nominated by and then setting some question for the blog you nominate.
The Liebster Award Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
2. Answer the 10 questions given
3. Nominate and link 10 bloggers (with less than 200 flowers)
4. Create 10 new questions for your nominees to answer.
HOWEVER, I'm going to do something a little different. I've followed the first two rules out of gratitude, but I'm going to allow all bloggers (with less than 200 followers) who read this post to nominate themselves & get discovered. The only thing I ask is that you leave a link to my blog, so that your readers can find my site! I'm also going to leave the 4th rule out... I like these questions!
THE QUESTIONS I WAS GIVEN:
1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I've always admired the internet's ability to inspire, support, and spread information and ideas. I love the escapism that blogging provides for me. The people from my personal life (outside of She-IY World) don't read nor watch anything I do here. Not sharing this part of me with anyone that I know has given me back a sense of freedom and joy that I no longer had. This is my therapy.
2. What's the best holiday you have been on?
I've been on too many wonderful holidays. I would say either a fun trip from my childhood or else any of the countries I've visited.
3. What is your go to beauty product?
My go to beauty product is a toss up between makeup-removing face wipes and Vaseline.
4. Best blog post you have read this year?
I'm not sure if there is a "best" considering I have a ton of interests! With that said, I recently read a post that made me tear up! My college friend, Erin Chack, is a writer at Buzzfeed and she wrote a post called Ten Times I Knew I Loved You for a special anniversary. It was amazing to know her beautiful story.
5. What is your must have clothing item?
My wardrobe must-have is a cover-up: cardigans, blazers, scarves and/or kimonos. I'd be a mess without them for one too many reasons!
6. What's a travel destination you want to visit?
It's difficult to say, because most of the countries I'd like to visit aren't the safest for traveling based on their current socio, economic and political situations. In my country, I'd have to go with either Hawaii or California. Abroad, I'd say Norway or England.
7. What's your favourite blog that you follow?
I think my first favorite blog was either Fashion Toast or Olsen's Anonymous. Now, it's probably Refinery29!
8. If you were on a deserted Island what 3 things would take with you?
Weather-stable tent, hardcore pocket knife and solar powered lights.
9. Favourite book you've read this year?
I don't think I've read a book since before January. I normally read books during the summer. One of the best books I finished last summer was The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory.
10. What is your number 1 goal for this year?
My number 1 goal is to overcome the illness that I've been dealing with, say yes to more things and to laugh everyday.
Thank you for reading this post! I'm indecisive with my personal interests, so I hope that you still got something out of my answers. Again, if you decide you'd like to do this award also, then please link my blog and leave a comment below so I can check it out!
